SHA-512 Algorithm on Json Web Token for Restful Web Service-Based Authentication

The development of technology is getting faster and continues to grow so as create various types technology, architecture, new programming languages. Surely this will be a problem because differences in language, architecture that must still able provide interconnected sources information. So order for the system remain integrated, Web Service (WS) needed bridge integrating between systems without differentiating platform, or used. One architectures widely used REST (REpresentational State Transfer), but there problems implementing it does not have security standards authentication process. Then an method needed, namely JSON Token (JWT). In JWT, hash algorithm such SHA-512. results study indicate use SHA-512 on JWT has good speed with average data request 512.8 milliseconds (ms) when compared SHA-256 which 515.55 MS. Meanwhile, terms size, produces size 0.75 kilobytes (kb) 0.72 kb.
